Fishing has been a bit tougher than normal so far in June. There is definitely fish out there but getting them to bite has been the battle. We believe this is due to the cleaner water this summer. This should get better with the warmer temps and algae starting to form reducing visibility.

The best fishing days lately have been cloudy or windy conditions. With these conditions we are finding bottom bouncers and spinner will catch walleyes in 5-20ft. Without these conditions bobbers and leeches have been best. Try getting your bobbers away from the boat on these calm sunny days. The walleyes are spooking from the boat even in deeper water. Mornings and evenings have also been better for the walleye bite with the clean water. We hope for the walleye bite to continue to get better each day. They do seem very spread out this year and don’t be afraid to cover water looking for fish.
