Devils Lake Fishing Reports

Ed's Bar & Bait Shop with Bry's Guide Service

Special thanks to our sponsors:

This week has brought with it lots of wind. This can be good and bad. It made fishing borderline impossible a few days, it dirtied up some shallow parts of the lake making them very tough fishing. What it did do that will help is take some areas on the lake that had too clear of water and give it the right stain. Water temp has managed to stay around 60 degrees the last few days making the bite a bit more consistent. At this point the bite should just continue to get better. The forecast looks great for this weekend and days after!

Walleyes are being caught anywhere from 1-20ft of water. That means they can be caught just about any way possible. Casting, jigging, bobbers, bottom bouncers & spinners, and trolling crankbaits have all produced fish this week. Windblown shorelines, rockpiles, roads, flooded trees, and freshly grown weeds are all holding fish. Overall bobbers with leeches or casting jigs and plastics seem to be the best.

The white bass bite really started to pick up this week. The rip rap along old 281 is holding good numbers of bass. They can be fished from a boat or shore. The back bays of East Bay and East Devils Lake also hold good numbers of bass. Hair jigs tipped with minnows, mimic minnows, and crankbaits have all produced.

Pike are still being found in back bays casting. This will continue most of the summer. Look for weeds. Some pike will migrate out to deeper water as the summer moves on.

The Spirt Lake Casino Fishing Tournament is this Saturday the 8th. Eds has leeches, crawlers, and minnows in stock. We also have a full selection crankbait, plastics, line, rods, reels, and terminal tackle needed for the big day!

Look for our weekly fishing report coming out all summer long to get the latest information in the area. We will do our best to keep all live bait in stock over the summer. Come in for all your fishing needs!

Head to Eds!
